Professional Experience

Mr Maan’s higher surgical training provided experience of working across a number of NHS Trusts including:

  • Addenbrooke’s NHS Trust, Cambridge
  • Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust
  • Southend University NHS Trust
  • Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust
  • Princess Alexandra Hospital

He has completed a Fellowship in Stone Surgery and Endourology at the Stone Unit at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, one of the few institutions to be accredited for its training internationally by the American Urology Association and the European Association of Urology.

Mr Maan has an on-going interest in research and was awarded a Masters in Urological Surgery by University College London in 2003 following a two-year project at the South West Thames Institute of Renal Research.

In addition to his clinical work, he is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Clinical Education at Anglia Ruskin University and Faculty member at the state-of-the-art surgical training facility in Colchester, the ICENI centre. Mr Maan is the deputy director for the newly established MSc in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Robotics, a new course based upon surgical simulation.
